Welcome to Mutangana Tea. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of mutanganatea.com (the "Website"), operated by Mutangana Tea Group Ltd, part of Mutangana Tea ("we", "us", "our"). By browsing the Website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to place an order on the Website. By doing so, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.

3. Use of the Website

You agree not to:

  • use the Website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Website, our servers, or our admin systems;
  • interfere with the normal operation of the Website, including by introducing malicious code or overloading our infrastructure;
  • copy, scrape, or reproduce content from the Website for commercial use without our written permission;
  • submit false information, including false contact or delivery details.

We may suspend access or cancel orders where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

4. Guest Checkout

Our store does not require you to create an account. When you place an order, we ask for your name, phone number, email address, and delivery address. We use your phone number and email address to recognize you as a returning customer and to keep a record of your orders, so you do not need to re-enter everything each time. You are responsible for making sure the contact details you provide belong to you and are correct.

5. Products and Information

We make every effort to display our products accurately, including descriptions, images, weights, and prices. However:

  • colours and packaging may vary slightly from images shown;
  • tea is an agricultural product, so taste and appearance may vary naturally between harvests;
  • all products are subject to availability, and we may limit quantities or discontinue products at any time.

If we discover an error in a product description or price after you order, we will contact you and give you the option to confirm the order at the correct details or cancel it for a full refund.

6. Prices

All prices are shown in Rwandan Francs (RWF). Prices include applicable taxes (including VAT) unless stated otherwise. Delivery fees are shown separately at checkout before you pay. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.

7. Placing an Order

  1. You add products to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  2. You provide your contact and delivery details and choose a payment method.
  3. You complete payment through our payment providers.
  4. Once payment is confirmed, we send an order confirmation by email and/or SMS.

Your order confirmation is our acceptance of your order and forms the contract between us. We may decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, if a product is unavailable, if there is a pricing error, or if we suspect fraud.

8. Payment

We accept payment through:

  • MTN Mobile Money (MoMo)
  • Pesapal, which supports card payments (Visa, Mastercard) and other methods available in your region

Payments are processed by these providers on their own secure systems. We do not see or store your full card details or your Mobile Money PIN. Your use of these payment services is also subject to the providers' own terms. An order is only processed once payment has been successfully confirmed.

9. Delivery

  • Within Rwanda: we deliver to Kigali and other provinces. Estimated delivery time is 2 to 5 business days after payment confirmation.
  • International: international delivery is not yet available. Where it becomes available, international buyers will be responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by the destination country.

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside our control. Risk in the products passes to you once they are delivered to the address you provided. If delivery fails because the details provided were incorrect or no one was available to receive the order, additional delivery fees may apply.

10. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations

Because tea is a consumable food product, we cannot accept returns of opened products for reasons of hygiene and food safety.

  • Cancellation: you may cancel an order free of charge before it has been dispatched by contacting us.
  • Damaged, defective, or incorrect items: please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the issue. We will offer a replacement or a full refund.
  • Unopened products: you may return unopened items in their original packaging within 7 days of delivery. Return delivery costs are your responsibility unless the item was faulty or incorrect.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method (MoMo number or card) within 5 business days. Your provider may take additional time to make the funds available.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website, including the Mutangana Tea name and logo, the Mutangana Tea name and logo, text, photographs, videos, graphics, and design, belongs to Mutangana Tea or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and share content for personal, non commercial purposes with clear attribution. Any other use requires our prior written permission.

12. Links to Other Websites

The Website may contain links to third party websites, including other Mutangana Tea websites, our payment providers, and social media pages. We are not responsible for the content or practices of external websites.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • the Website is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error free;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Website or our products;
  • our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under the laws of Rwanda, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

14. Privacy

How we collect and use your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. The Terms in force at the time you place an order apply to it.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it amicably. If it cannot be resolved, it will be submitted to the competent courts of Rwanda.
